Description

St John the Baptist Church:

Findon's parish church dates from the 11th century and has been added and altered over the following centuries, the last major overhaul coming in 1866-67. The old settlement of Findon once stood to the immediate north of the church but was in its current location by the 16th century. This subsequently left the church and manor house some distance from the rest of the settlement its isolation completed when the Findon By-Pass was constructed in 1938.
