Description
The Finnish pavilion at the 1939 New York World's Fair was designed by Alvar Aalto and opened to the public on 4 May 1939. The statue in front, a variation of the sculpture ‘’Suomen neito’’ by Wäinö Aaltonen was originally designed to be placed at Hämeensilta in Tampere in 1929.
