Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Firehole Spring is in the White Creek Group of Yellowstone's Lower Geyser Basin. Its bluish pool has "flaming" at its vent - rising steam bubbles emerge from the vent, cool off slightly, and collapse as gaseous water converts to liquid water. Sometimes, the flame effect results in significant roiling and bursting at the surface of the pool. "Flaming" also occurs at Flash Spring at Paintpot Hill in Yellowstone's Gibbon Geyser Basin and at Silex Spring in the Fountain Group of the Lower Geyser Basin.
