Summary

[edit]
Description

Taken at the Portland, Maine fireworks display yesterday on the 4th of July. The weather was great, the view over Casco Bay was impressive. An orchestra played before and during the display. I was not in an ideal location for photos. There was a street light and a tree that interferred and in these I managed to crop them out. The displays were quite close so I had to just set the lens at 35 mm and point and hope the display ended up mostly in the frame. My first attempt to take photos of fireworks and by the end of the show I had figured out some of the details.

There was little wind and the smoke accumulated in the sky as can be seen here.
