Description
English: The first Diesel engine to run under its own power. This was the second engine built as part of the work of Rudolf Diesel (the first having never developed useful power). It went through hundreds of modifications between 1893 and 1896. The first successful run occurred Feb 17, 1894. The engine is presently displayed at the headquarters of MAN SE.
Deutsch: Erster Dieselmotor der in der Lage war durch seine eigene Energie kontinuierlich zu laufen. Es war der zweite von Rudolf Diesel gebaute Motor. Der erste produzierte nicht genug Leistung um ohne Fremdenergie betrieben zu werden. Zwischen 1893 und 1896 wurde eine Vielzahl von Änderungen vorgenommen. Der erste erfolgreiche Lauf des Motors fand am 17. Februar 1894 statt. Der Motor ist aktuell in der MAN SE Zentrale ausgestellt.
