Description

The rivers, streams, and lakes of Oregon and Washington are home to a diverse array of fish species and the BLM is committed to the restoration and protection of their aquatic habitat.

Salmon and trout species found on BLM-managed lands include bull trout, westslope cutthroat trout, Yellowstone cutthroat trout, Lahontan cutthroat trout, redband trout, steelhead trout, and chinook and sockeye salmon.

As long as you hold a valid State license, you may hunt, trap, and fish on BLM public lands in Oregon and Washington. You must comply with State license requirements and regulations for these activities. A BLM Special Recreation Permit may be required when providing a commercial service to the public in addition to a State license. Fishing and hunting are regulated by the States of Oregon and Washington Departments of Fish and Wildlife.
