«Прямоугольное двухстороннее полотнище с отношением ширины к длине 2:3, воспроизводящее фигуры из герба Магарамкентского района, выполненные зелёным, синим, красным, белым и жёлтым цветом».

Описание герба: «В зелёном поле с червлёным узким включённым правым краем над лазоревой оконечностью, завершённой вверху серебряными сплетёнными стеблями лиан (без листьев), — серебряная корзина (без ручек), наполненная золотыми плодами и листьями персиков, яблок, груш, хурмы, инжира, граната, абрикоса и виноградной гроздью, свисающей поверх переднего края корзины».
