«Флаг района представляет собой зелёное полотнище с отношением ширины к длине 2:3, на всю поверхность которого распространена композиция из герба района с заменой геральдического золота — жёлтым, а геральдического серебра — белым цветом».

Геральдическое описание герба гласит:

«В зелёном поле на серебряном и чёрном холме, разделённом зубчато-изломанным червлёным поясом — золотой, лежащий и обернувшийся олень».
