Description
Deutsch: Demonstration der Flammenfärbungen durch Erhitzen von Blei(II)-acetat in der Flamme eines Bunsenbrenners. Durch Anregung wird sichtbares Licht Element-spezifischer Wellenlängen freigesetzt, was als Nachweis für Blei dienen kann. Durch die Belichtung und die Farbtemperatur bei der Aufnahme ist die fahlblaue Flammenfarbe des Bleis sehr farbintensiv dargestellt; in natura ist sie kaum sichtbar.
English: Demonstration of flame colors used in the flame test by heating lead(II) acetate in a Bunsen burner flame. Excitation of electrons causes release of electromagnetic radiation whose wavelengths are element-specific. In some cases, these wavelengths fall into the visible spectrum, making them useful as a test for certain elements, in this case lead. Due to the lighting and the light temperature, the pale blue flame of lead is rendered with a much more intense color in this photograph; in reality it is barely visible.
