Description
Deutsch: Flechtwerkstein
Deutsch: Kempten, Pfarrkirche St. Mang:
Fragment mit Flechtwerkdekor von einer karolingischen Chorschranke (1. Viertel 9. Jh.), 1894 beim Heizungsbau unter dem Hauptaltar gefunden. In den Feldern zwischen den Bändern des Flechtwerks sind Weinblätter und -trauben zu sehen.
In der Kirche wird das Fragment (wie auf den Fotos zu sehen) in einer neu ergänzten Form gezeigt, bei der das Fragment zu einer ungefähr quadratischen Platte ergänzt wurde. Doch dies entspricht nicht dem Befund: Da an der linken und rechten Schmalseite des Fragments Nuten eingearbeitet sind, in die solche Platten eingesetzt werden konnten, handelt es sich hier offensichtlich um einen Pfosten.
