Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Flija" translated from the Albanian language means "sacrifice", as it takes time and love for preparation. The Albanians or Illyrians at that time prepared this dish using alternating layers of batter, which eventually form the shape of a sun. It dates back to our pagan roots and sun-worship. The sun is a common motif among Albanian culture, evident in our food, clothing as well as tattoos and masonry.
