Flippin hotel outbuilding (historical)

Summary[edit]

Description
English: T. Y. Downing homesite outbuilding, Flippin, Kentucky, relocated from across the street. Historically, this is believed to have been a 19th-century outbuilding of the Flippin hotel originally located there. Commemorative signage was more recently added by Theresa (Turner) Deckard when the outbuilding was moved. (THIS BUILDING WAS NEVER THE POST OFFICE OF FLIPPIN.) This outbuilding now stands on the site of Tom Button’s third (brick) store that closed in 1955, which was later reopened as Flippin Grocery operated briefly by Lester and Bela Turner until the brick store building burned in 1969.
