| Description |
Fly away home I couldn’t resist the title, recalling the 1996 movie of the same name. I loved this movie, which is loosely based on the book "Father Goose". A true story, Father Goose details the story of Canadian artist, sculptor, avian conservationist, and film maker Bill Lishman, who successfully guided migratory birds (from Canada to the Southern US) in his ultralight plane. His first successful migratory flight was with a flock of Canada Geese, a technique later adopted by conservationists in their attempts to guide Whooping Cranes during their annual migration. Bill Lishman died in December 30, 2017. He was 78 years old.
