English: Military parade of German tanks and tank troopers (Panzerwaffe of Wehrmacht Heer, the German Army) in the Karl Johans gate street in Oslo on October 1st, 1940, during Nazi Germany's occupation of Norway during the Second World War. Lieutenant Colonel Ernst Volckheim (1898–1962), commander of the 40th Armored Battalion (Panzer-Abteilung z.b.V. 40) salutes the passing tank soldiers in their vehicles ( Panzerkampfwagen II, Panzerkampfwagen II, etc.) Volckheim is dressed in a black Panzer uniform. The Universitetsplassen square is surrounded by buildings of the University of Oslo.

Foto fra en tysk mønstring av pansertropper på Karl Johans gate i Oslo sentrum 1. oktober 1940. Oppstilt på Universitetsplassen står Ernst Volckheim (1898–1962), oberstløytnant (Oberstleutnant) i Wehrmacht Heer, Hitler-Tysklands hær, og sjef for Panzer-Abteilung 40 (Panzerabteilung Z.b.V. 40, Panzer-Abteilung zur besonderen Verwendung 40), en panseravdeling for særanvendelse som ble satt inn under invasjonen av Norge under andre verdenskrig (se Tokt ved neste nymåne : felttoget 1940 : invasjon med kamera og panservogn side 180). Panserkjøretøyene i militærparaden omfatter blant annet Panzer II (Panzerkampfwagen II, PzKpfw II ), en lett, tysk stridsvogn som ble brukt under invasjonen av Polen i 1939 og felttogene i 1940. Offiserene, som gjør honnør for de passerende troppene, bærer svart Panzer uniform for mannskaper i Panzertruppen (Panzerwaffe) med kort jakke, hodeskalle-symboler (Totenkopf) på kragespeilene og stor beret.
