Women and children, dressed in mid-1800's period clothing, prepping for a Grim Homestead re-enactment to take place on July 30 &31. Were you aware that boys, up to age six or even seven, for dress up occasions, often wore dresses? The house, built in 1834 by a Pennsylvania German miller, Peter Grim, is on the National Register of Historic Places. Actually it was added to an existing registration when the borders of the Helfrich Springs Grist Mill, built by the same man in 1807, registration were expnded to include the house.
