Description The former Astoria Cinema, Gloucester Place, Brighton, City of Brighton and Hove, England. Built in 1933 as an 1,800-capacity "super-cinema" by Edward Stone, it became a bingo hall in 1977 and closed down in 1997. As of 2013, it is still empty. Planning permission for its demolition was granted in January 2012, and demolition took place in the first half of 2018. It was listed at Grade II by Historic England (NHLE Code 1247234).
