Description

1947 photograph of a pillar salvaged from the former Mill Hill Unitarian Chapel in City Square, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It was built in 1672 and was demolished in 1847. In 1847 two columns were placed in the gardens of the former house called Meanwoodside (now Meanwood Park with pillar at southwest end) by W. (or E.) Oates, the then owner. This one is Grade II listed, and as of 2018 it was still there.(Source for location of pillar: English Heritage listing no.1255591)

The other column is at the north-east end of the park.
