| Description |
English: Built in 1930-1932, this Stripped Classical Revival and Art Deco-style building was constructed to house the Shaare Emeth Temple, a synagogue, which moved to Creve Coeur in 1980. The building features a buff brick exterior with limestone trim, a front portico with rectilinear fluted columns, metal windows, decorative medallions with Jewish symbols, a hipped roof, a two-story semi-circular bay window clad in limestone with fluted pilasters, two-story bays on the western facade with stone spandrel panels, flanked by fluted pilasters, and concrete base. The building today serves as the 560 Music Center, and is owned by Washington University in St. Louis. |
