Description
Nederlands: De ontijzeringsinstallatie werd gevoed met ijzerrijk grondwater. Het water kwam via een sproeier aan het plafond in de bak. Het water druppelde via kleine stenen naar beneden. Hierbij kwam het in contact met zuurstof waardoor het ijzer oxideerde en vast werd. De vaste deeltjes werden eruit gefilterd in de zandbak onder de installatie. Het water was daardoor beter te gebruiken al werd het zelden gebruikt voor de voedselbereiding of als drinkwater vanwege de bijsmaak die het water bleef houden.
