Português: Forte Castelo do Mar. Construido pelo arquiteto militar Sanfelice,o Conde Bagnulo em 1630 e pelos lusos-brasileiros. Apos a invasão dos holandeses deram-lhe o nome de Walter Kastell(Castelo do Mar). Considerada a edificação militar mais importante no litoral de Pernambuco, tinha o objetivo de defender a entrada da barra do Porto de Nazaré e o estuário dos Rios Ipojuca e Massangana. Possuía Três baterias com cinco peças de bronze, totalizando quinze canhões |
