Description : Le lieu historique national du Canada de la Forteresse-de-Louisbourg est la plus grande reconstruction de ville fortifiée française du XVIIIe siècle en Amérique du Nord, située à l'extrémité sud-est du port de Louisbourg, près de l'océan Atlantique, et du Cap-Breton, en Nouvelle-Écosse. Ce lieu se compose du site de la forteresse d’origine, ainsi que des terres et des îles avoisinantes. Il contient des vestiges rares attestant le mode de vie des Français et Britanniques venus en Amérique du Nord au XVIIIe siècle. La forteresse et la ville de Louisbourg ont été reconstituées en partie pour aider les visiteurs à en comprendre l'échelle, la complexité et la dimension.
