Description

Trilobite pygidium in fossiliferous dolostone from the Silurian of Kentucky, USA.

This sample has crinoid stem columnals, gastropod shells, and a trilobite pygidium.

Stratigraphy: float, lower Bisher Formation, lower Lockport Group, middle Niagaran Series, mid-Wenlockian, middle Middle Silurian

Locality: Charters Northeast Outcrop - roadcut along the northwestern side of the AA Highway (= Route 9 and Route 10; formerly Route 546), first hill immediately northeast of the town of Charters & immediately south of Redden Brook, along Salt Lick Creek Valley, southern side of Pleasant Ridge, north-central Lewis County, northeastern Kentucky, USA
