English: Four color theorem (3 of 3). Step 3: A redefined problem. Instead of a complex map with many wandering boundaries, it's a simpler problem of nodes. If two nodes are connected by a line, then they can't be the same color. Mathematicians used this kind of reasoning to make an extremely complex problem much more manageable. But it still a difficult problem to prove mathematically. |
