Description
María niña, rezando en compañía de san Joaquín y santa Ana que le ofrece un plato con frutas. Sobre la mesa en la que se apoya Joaquín, puede reconocerse uno de los conjuntos de bodegón favoritos de Zurbarán por su poder simbólico de pureza y amor, la bandeja con la rosa y una taza de loza blanca de Triana (barrio alfarero de Sevilla), conjunto que se repite en varios cuadros de Zurbarán. el de la Milagrosa curación del beato Reginaldo de Orleans (en la parroquia de la Magdalena de Sevilla, de 1626); en el Bodegón con cesta de naranjas de la Norton Simon Foundation de Pasadena, de 1633; y en Taza de agua y rosa de la National Gallery de Londres.
