| Description |
English: Eschenheimer Turm (tower) was part of the defensive wall around Frankfurt. It is sometimes called Eschenheimer Tor (gate). It was built in 1426-1428. The tower is 47 m (154 ft) high.
Eschenheimer Turm is a symbol of the city of Frankfurt. You can see park areas in the area of the former fortifications on the map. At one time, the fortifications had 60 towers. Now only three remain as monuments. |
