Description
English: As seen in September 2021, a faded "ghost sign" on the rear of the building at 22 Summer Street in Buffalo, New York (now home to Schuele Ace Hardware) identifies it as the former "FRED. L. BEIER STORAGE WAREHOUSE." Friedrich Leberecht "Fred" Beier was a German-born grocer and animal feed merchant who kept his store in the adjacent building at 1130 Main Street from 1871 through 1904, thus placing this among Buffalo's oldest extant ghost signs.
