Cole Owens, medical officer assigned to the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Arlington (LPD 24), describes the ship’s medical capabilities to French navy Frigate Capt. Chun Jen Fang, commandant of the Floréal-class frigate FS Germinal (F735), Aug. 24, 2021. Fang’s visit enabled leadership to exchange best practices as they work together toward the common goal of supporting the humanitarian relief efforts in Haiti. Arlington is deployed to U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet to support humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) efforts in Haiti following a 7.2-magnitude earthquake Aug. 14, 2021.
