Summary
[edit]DescriptionFrom The Lowest of Lows, To the Highest of Heights - Flickr - Global Reactions.jpg | This has to be my most favorite photo of Macau. in the scene you can see the past, present, and future of Macau and Mainland China (in the far background). The old ships passing by have been in operation for decades and still are a main occupation for some Macanese. Macau Tower reflects the present, a productive and progressive society looking for change and vitality still tied to the past while still expanding it's hands toward the future. The future is in the left hand portion where the starting spans of a new suspension bridge tying Macau and Taipa Island. This reflects the path and progress macau is making, forgetting it's past as a backwater portuguese port living off past glories while living in the shadow of a more modern Hong Kong. *note: The new (and third bridge) connecting Macau and Taipa was finished late in 2004. |
