English: Work-Oriented Adults literacy Pilot Project. This project is the result of an agreement between the Government of Ecuador and the United Nations Development Programme. It will be closely co-ordinated with agrarian reform programmes and with agricultural, vocational, industrial and handicraft training to demonstrate the impact of functional literacy on economic development. UNESCO has the responsibility for the implementation of this project.
Français : Projet-pilote d’alphabétisation fonctionnelle des adultes. Ce projet, résultat d'un accord entre le Gouvernement équatorien et le Programme des Nations-Unies pour le Développement - dont l'UNESCO est l'agent exécution - a pour but l’alphabétisation des adultes dans le cadre de leur profession. Il sera mis sur pied en étroite liaison avec les programmes de reforme agraire et la formation agricole, technique, industrielle et artisanale, de façon à démontrer l'influence de l’alphabétisation fonctionnelle sur le développement économique.
