Summary
[edit]DescriptionFuselage from Bell P-63C Kingcobra (probably P-63C-5-BE 44-4368) (50499191211).jpg |
English: This fuselage section is from one of four Kingcobras recovered from the Kuril Islands during 2003. As well as 43-11137 which is under restoration and 44-4315 which is on display, the only other known serial is 44-4368 which would be c/n 33-953. As this is a reasonably complete forward fuselage including engine and cockpit while the forth is only a lower fuselage, I think it likely that the identity belongs to this airframe.
It is reported to be departing soon to assist a P-63 restoration elsewhere. Wings Museum, Balcombe, West Sussex, UK 20th August 2020 |
