Description
English: Sadly, Novair closed down at the end of Mar-90. This was mostly because the owners, Rank Leisure, didn't have a clue how to run an airline (it was originally 51% owned by British Caledonian, and known as Cal Air, until B.Cal were taken over by British Airways in 1987). Rank were more used to running Motorway Service Areas and wanted things like a five year budget plan - impossible for a charter airline not knowing what business would be available in 12 months never mind 5 years... don't get me started! Unfortunately this is a poor photo, long distance & much enlarged. Novair's 'PK' was leased to Air Europe in Dec-90 in this all white c/scheme until they ceased ops in Mar-91
