GOES-S now resides in a clean room at Astrotech Space Operations in Titusville, Fla., where it will undergo preparations for launch in March 2018.

GOES-S flew aboard a U.S. Air Force C-5M Super Galaxy cargo transport from Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora, Colorado, to Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida on December 4, 2017.

GOES-S will join its sister satellite, GOES-16, in orbit as GOES-17.
