Description

The thrower of thorn. According to The Golden Legend: while Jerome explained the Bible to the monks of Palestine, a lion who limped would have approached. After having removed a thorn from the paw, Jerome asked him to watch over his ass. Stolen by caravanners, the lion would bring back the ass and became the pet of Jerome.
