English: Gate in Tangiers, by Henry Ossawa Tanner. Tanner traveled to cities in Morocco, in March-June 1912. Earlier trips to the Middle East included a trip to Algiers in 1908, a trip to "the Near East" Oct 98-March 99, and a trip to Palestine and Egypt with stops on the way home in Naples, Rome, Pisa, Florence, and Venice January-April 1897. He did not travel to the Middle East in 1910. |
