| Description |
Deutsch: In Gleidingen gab es vor dem Krieg eine große jüdische Gemeinde, deren Mitglieder gut in das Gleidinger Gemeindeleben als Händler und Kaufleute integriert waren. Es gab eine Synagoge mit Leichenwagenhalle, ein Badehaus und einen jüdischen Friedhof, der bis heute existiert. An diese lebendige jüdische Gemeinde Gleidingens und die Synagoge in der Thorstrasse erinnert der Stein an der Gedenkstätte.
Alljährlich am 9. November, dem Jahrestag der Pogromnacht, legt der Bürgermeister der Stadt Laatzen zur Erinnerung an die jüdischen Opfer des Nationalsozialismus einen Kranz an der Gedenkstätte nieder. |
