Description
Deutsch: Inschrift der Gedenktafel: Am 1. Juli 1890 wurde der "Verband der Fabrikarbeiter Deutschlands" als Gewerkschaft der ungelernten Arbeiter im Ballhof zu Hannover gegründet. In Nachfolge des am 2. Mai 1933 von den Nationalsozialisten zerschlagenen "Verbandes der Fabrikarbeiter Deutschlands" erfolgte am 17. Dezember 1946 in Hamburg-Harburg die Gründung der Industriegewerkschaft Chemie-Papier-Keramik. Der Sitz dieser Gewerkschaft ist seit 1890 Hannover.
English: Inscription of the commemorative plaque (literal translation): On 1 July 1890, the "Verband der Fabrikarbeiter Deutschlands" (foundation of the Association of German Factory Workers) was founded as a union of unskilled workers at the Ballhof in Hanover. On 17 December 1946, the industrial trade union Chemie-Papier-Keramik was founded in Hamburg-Harburg as a successor to the "Verband der Fabrikarbeiter Deutschlands" (Association of German Factory Workers), which had been crushed by the National Socialists on 2 May 1933. This trade union has been based in Hanover since 1890.
