TBILISI, country of Georgia, June 22, 2011 – Brigadier General Larry Dudney, Director of the Joint Staff, Georgia National Guard, discuses the finer points of staff organization and systems for managing work with Mr. Shalva Akhvlediani, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, at the Georgian National Guard Training Facility in Tbilisi, Georgia.

General Dudney and a team of subject matter experts from the Georgia Guard are supporting Shared Horizons 11, a combined bi-lateral, humanitarian assistance and response exercise conducted here by the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs 20-24 June. Other participants include the Georgian Ministry of Defense, representatives from across the Georgian government, and elements of U.S. Army Europe.

“The Georgia National Guard is proud to have worked closely with our counterparts for sixteen years now, as part of the State Partnership Program,” said General Dudney, who has himself traveled to Georgia repeatedly in support of the State Partnership Program. “Our enduring relationship with Georgia affords us the opportunity to build lasting trust, which allows us to lend our experience and expertise in many areas.”
