Description
English: The U.S. Navy destroyer USS Barker (DD-213) comes alongside of the escort carrier USS Core (CVE-13) on 24 August 1943 to transfer prisoners from the German submarine U-185, sunk by air attacks earlier in the day. The Germans are all near the 4"/50 gun. Note "cleared" railings, and blanked off portholes.
