Description
English: Cartouche with text on Germania Teütschland, map of "the German Nation" in the book Gemeiner loblicher Eydgnoschafft Stetten... published in 1548 by Johann Stumpf in Zürich. The text says: "In dieser Tafel Germanie haben wir nit gefolget der beshcribung der Alten, die Germaniam allem zwischen den Rhyn und Dünaw einschliessen, sonder vil mehr gesehen auff unserer zeyt sitten, art unnd sprach, darbey wir Teütsche Nation befindend, weit uber die Dünaw hinauß , biß in die öbersten Alpspitzen, deßgleychen uber den Rhyn, biss an die Schelde sich erstrecken."

El texto dice: "En este mapa de Alemania no hemos seguido la descripción de los antiguos que encerraron a Alemania entre el Rin y el Danubio sino que hemos mirado mucho más a nuestras costumbres, usos y lengua, por lo cual encontramos que la Nación Alemana se extiende mucho más allá del Danubio, hasta las más altas cumbres de los Alpes, e igualmente más allá del Rin, hasta el Escalda."
