Deutsch: Freilichtmuseum Roscheider Hof:
Ein sogenannter Glühbolzen wurde zum Bügeln ausserhalb des Eisens angezündet und in das Eisen eingeführt. Er konnte bis zu 10 Stunden ununterbrochen glühen und so das Fortarbeiten ermöglichen. Im Vergleich zum Kohlebügeleisen hat er kaum Staub, Ruß und Giftgase emittiert. Diese Fortschritte wurden nicht nur in Fachzeitschriften ausführlich beworben. Ein Holzgriff ist mit zwei auf den Decke geschweißten Eisenstangen befestigt. An der Rückseite des Eisens befindet sich auf einem kurzen Eisenband ein hölzerner ebenfalls später dungelgrau eingefärbten Knauf mit dem der Deckel verschlossen und wieder geöffnet werden kann. Im Inneraum ist unter dem Deckel eine sich mit dem Deckel öffnende Metallplatte mit der Aufschrift "DALLI Protector" angebracht. Zwischen den beiden übereinander angeordneten Wörtern ist eine Hand zu sehen. Dieser sollte verhindern, dass Teile der Briketts aus dem Lüftungsschlitz herausfallen können. Ebenfalls sind (wie bei einem Schweizereisen) Löcher unten an den Seitenteilen angebracht und im inneren durch ein feinmaschiges Gitter gesichert. In das Eisen konnten angeglühte Dalli-Glühstoff-Briketts eingeführt werden. Nach eigener Werbung entwickelte sich dabei weder Rauch noch Dunst oder lästige Hitze. Eine Füllung reichte für mehrere Stunden. Für die Briketts oder Glutbolzen wurden im Inneren am Boden und am Rand Rippen angebracht. Für die erforderliche Luftzufuhr sorgten seitlich angebrachte Öffnungen, die bei heftigem Hin- und Herschwenken die Kohlenglut neu entfachte. A so-called glow bolt was lit outside the iron and inserted into the iron for ironing. It could glow continuously for up to 10 hours, allowing work to continue. Compared to the coal iron, it emitted hardly any dust, soot or poisonous gases. These advances were widely advertised, and not just in trade journals. A wooden handle is attached with two iron bars welded to the top. On the back of the iron, on a short iron band, is a wooden knob, also later dyed dark grey, with which the lid can be closed and opened again. Inside, under the lid, there is a metal plate which opens with the lid and bears the inscription "DALLI Protector". A hand can be seen between the two superimposed words. This should prevent parts of the briquettes from falling out of the ventilation slot. There are also holes (like on a Swiss iron) at the bottom of the sides and secured inside by a fine-meshed grid. Dalli incandescent briquettes could be inserted into the iron. According to their own advertising, neither smoke nor fumes nor annoying heat developed. One filling was enough for several hours. For the briquettes or ember bolts, ribs were placed inside on the bottom and on the rim. The necessary air supply was provided by openings on the sides, which reignited the embers when they were swung violently back and forth.
