Description

Structurally tilted sandstones in the Mesozoic of Utah, USA.

This is an outcrop of eolian sandstones called the Glen Canyon Sandstone (Upper Triassic to Lower Jurassic) in Dinosaur National Monument, Utah. The name is a local designation for the Navajo Sandstone (also known as the Nugget Sandstone). The Glen Canyon/Navajo/Nugget is a thick and widespread desert sand dune deposit, technically called an erg facies.
