Deutsch: Grabstein des Reuwen (Ruben) ben Löb Rothschild (28. November 1723) auf dem alten jüdischen Friedhof (Friedhof Königstraße) in Hamburg-Altona
Der Text lautet übersetzt: Hier ist begraben ein Mann, ›lauter wandelnd‹ und ›mit Gebot(serfüllung) beschäftigt‹, es ist der geehrte Herr Reuwen, Sohn des Vorstehers und Leiters, des geehrten Meisters, Herrn Löb Rothschild, verschieden und begraben Tag 1, Neumond Kislev 484 der kleinen Zählung. Seine Seele sei eingebunden in das Bündel des Lebens. (Die Buchstaben der Todesjahres sind umgestellt, das gebildete Wort erinnert an pedut, "Befreiung") Im Grabbuch shha (JG 73), S. 33 Nr. 12, findet sich der Eintrag: der geehrte Meister, Herr Reuwen Rothschild, beigelegt links von seinem Bruder unser Lehrer, der Meister, Herr Izek Rothschild. |
