Description
English: Koper. Grafnummer 32. De oudste grafsteen in de Martinikerk te Groningen.

De grafzerk van Everhardus (Evert) Jarges (†17 Juli 1535) met de wapens van zijn ouders Coppen Jarges (links) en Ida/Ide Sickinghe (rechts). Het ornament in de vorm van een miskelk geeft aan dat hij priester was.

Op de grafzerk de tekst: ANNO DOMINI 1535 IPSO DIE ALEXII CONFESSORIS MIGRAVIT E VITA MAGNIFICUS, SPECTATEQUE VIRTUTIS MAGISTER EVERHARDUS JARGHES, L. L. DOCTOR, HUIUS ECCLESIE CURATUS ET RECTOR, ANNO EIUS CURE 34 CUIUS OSSA HOC SAXO CLAUDUNTUR. ANIMA EIUS REQUIESCAT IN PACE.
