| Description |
English: Along historic Hermit Road on the South Rim, Powell Point provides stunning 200° vistas of Grand Canyon. The viewpoint, and the stone memorial located here, commemorate the 1869 and 1871-72 exploratory river trips through Grand Canyon on the Colorado River by Major John Wesley Powell and his crew members. This photo shows the area on the northernmost end of the point, that is located just beyond the stone memorial.
