Description
English: The "Granite Works", a quintet of c. 1870s-1880s buildings in a varierty of styles that anchors the northwest corner of Main and Virginia Streets in the Allentown Historic District, Buffalo, New York, December 2019. Restored in 2006 by First Amherst Development Group as a mixed-use development of shops, restaurants and apartments, the complex is named in honor of the McDonnell Building (furthest right in this photo), built in 1884 as the headquarters of McDonnell and Sons, a granite quarrying operation whose quarry was located in Quincy, Massachusetts.
