English: The gravestone of Wladimir Astafiew (1860 – 23 October 1890), which was relocated from the Bukit Timah Cemetery to the north-east corner of Fort Canning Green, Singapore. Astafiew died at the Singapore General Hospital following a long illness, and was buried with military honours. Among the persons in attendance at his funeral were military and naval officers, and the Russian Consul: Straits Times Weekly Issue, 29 October 1890; p. 4.
