Summary
[edit]DescriptionGreenrigg Halt, 2. 17 07 2021.jpg |
English: View north across the tracks of the Aln Valley Railway at the eastern end of Greenrigg Halt, the lines' then eastern terminus. Central to the shot is the station sign, created by arranging painted stones. Beyond this is the station access path and the Aln Valley.
Just to the right (out of shot) is Edenhill Bridge which carries a public road and, hence, the AVR cannot extend beneath it until obtain a Transport and Works Act Order. At the time of visiting, passenger trains thus terminated at Greenrigg Halt. The trackbed beyond the bridge has remained disused since the original line closed in 1968. |
