Gremlin: "Gremlin" Late Cretaceous, North America

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Named after the small mischievous folkloric creatures, Gremlin is a leptoceratopsid ceratopsian from the Late Cretaceous period of what is now Alberta, Canada. Leptoceratopsids were small basal ceratopsians that resembled their larger horned cousins, sporting a small crest on the back of the head, and a powerful beak at the front of the snout. Their small size and center of gravity allowed them to sometimes be bipedal, though not always. Gremlin can be distinguished from other leptoceratopsids by a ridge on the front of its head that runs from the midline of the skull toward the eye on each side of its face.
