| Description |
This is what passed for a cracker laminator in 1970. Unknown make. It is a sheeter feeding a cross-sheeter. Anyway, it worked for them. Housed in the Raw Material Store. Not sure how Griffin's was layed out, but compared to AB Consolidated at Otahuhu and Hudson's at Papakura, the Lower Hutt factory reflected its heritage, though maybe they just didn't have a wall between the sore and the cutting room. The entire Webster's biscuit factory at Kedron, Brisbane was just one big building with no internal walls. You usually have walls to keep the flour dust out from coating the ovens and for air conditioning in the Mixing and Cutting rooms. Dough fed from Baker Perkin's hopper above.
