Español: Patricio Ibarra Cifuentes escribió:"Sátira del Diógenes, publicada el 11 de junio de 1884, acerca de la situación desmedrada de los mutilados de la guerra. En la imagen, un hombre de vestido de frac y sombrero le entrega una moneda a un veterano, quien porta uniforme y varias condecoraciones, mientras asevera que no es vergüenza “tender la mano para pedir limosna”, en circunstancias que no puede recibirla pues le faltan ambos brazos. El desencanto por lo sucedido con los ex – combatientes, resulta evidente." |
